● Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Java, ensuring high performance and responsiveness to requests from the front end.
● Apply Domain-Driven Design (DDD) principles to model and implement complex business domains.
● Develop and manage Backends for Frontends (BFF) to tailor API design for front-end needs and optimize user experience.
● Implement and maintain an Event-Driven Architecture using Kafka, enabling robust communication between distributed services.
● Ensure observability by implementing monitoring, logging, and tracing to detect and resolve issues proactively.
● Work with cryptography concepts to ensure data security and confidentiality in compliance with industry standards and regulations.
● Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product managers, frontend developers, and other backend developers to deliver high-quality solutions.
● Participate in code reviews, mentor junior developers, and contribute to best practices across the development team.
● Onsite in Singapore 1 week/month

● Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
● 5+ years of experience in backend development with a focus on building scalable and
secure applications.
● Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
Must-Have Qualifications
● Strong proficiency in Java with a solid understanding of object-oriented programming and design principles.
● Experience with Domain-Driven Design (DDD), including structuring codebases and applying DDD tactical patterns.
● Familiarity with Backends for Frontends (BFF) patterns and experience in tailoring API services to optimize frontend interaction.
● Knowledge of event-driven architecture and experience working with Kafka for building scalable, real-time data pipelines and services.
● Proficiency in observability tools and practices, such as metrics, logging, tracing, and alerting, to ensure system reliability and operational health.
● Understanding of cryptography and security protocols, with experience implementing secure coding practices.
● Experience with Amazon Web Services and/or other cloud services.
● Strong English communication skills – both verbal and written. Can confidently communicate with stakeholders and team members.
Optional Skills & Experience
● Previous experience in payment services and familiarity with payment processing systems, gateways, and security standards.
● Experience with Karate for API testing and test automation.
● Knowledge of SonarQube for continuous inspection of code quality and Fortify for application security testing.
● Familiarity with HashiCorp Vault for managing secrets and secure access to sensitive data.
